Bitrig Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27 2025

Bitrig, Inc. (“Bitrig,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) explains below how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Bitrig mobile app, website, and related services (“Service”).

1. Information We Collect

  • Email address – used to authenticate your account, provide waitlist updates, and communicate about app usage and feature releases.
  • User ID – a unique identifier we assign to your account.
  • User content – including code, messages, images, and project metadata you create in the app.
  • Product interaction data – such as taps, screen views, and session events, to understand how you use the app.
  • Diagnostic data – technical information from feedback forms, including bug descriptions and screenshots.

We do not collect sensitive categories such as precise location, contacts, health data, or payment-card numbers.

2. Cookies and Local Storage

Our public website may store a small cookie or local-storage value to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure anonymous traffic. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Authenticate your account and enable app features
  • Store, sync, and back up projects and user content
  • Provide AI-assisted features through secure third-party model providers
  • Analyze aggregated usage to improve design and performance
  • Investigate bugs, security events, and misuse

We do not use your data for behavior-based advertising or cross-site tracking.

4. User Content Visibility

Projects are private until you choose Share. Sharing creates a URL that anyone with the link can open, making the project’s code, messages, and metadata public to those link holders and remix-able by other Bitrig users.

If you need a link disabled, contact support@bitrig.app and we will remove public access. Forks or copies made before removal may still exist, so avoid including personal data in any project you intend to share.

5. Sharing of Information

We share only what is necessary to run Bitrig:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure vendors – encrypted storage and servers
  • Analytics provider – pseudonymous usage metrics (no direct identifiers)
  • AI model provider – processes your prompts and code to generate results

We never sell or rent your contact information.

6. Security

Data travels using TLS 1.3, is encrypted at rest where supported, and is accessed only by the founders. No security system is perfect and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. International Transfers

We store and process information in the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

8. Children’s Privacy

Bitrig is not directed to children under 13 (or the digital-consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect children’s data. Parents or guardians may contact us to request deletion of a minor’s information.

9. Data Retention

Personal data is kept only while needed to deliver the Service, fulfil legal duties, or resolve disputes. You may request deletion at any time.

10. Your Rights and Choices

You can

  • access the personal data we hold about you,
  • request correction of inaccurate data,
  • request deletion of your account,
  • receive a portable copy of your data, and
  • opt out of non-essential email messages by clicking the unsubscribe link.

Contact support@bitrig.app. We aim to respond within ten business days.

11. California Privacy Rights

California residents may exercise the rights listed in Section 10. Bitrig does not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

12. European Privacy Rights

Bitrig, Inc. is the data controller. We process data on the bases of contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligation, and consent (where required).

You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

13. Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and, for major changes, provide in-app or website notice.
